"Doll Lovers Fellowship" Activity Report


Free Mega Dental Camp
 
 
 
 
 
On account of 13th birth month of Rotary Dolls Museum we had organized free Dental Camp on 23rd July 2017. Almost 500 children of the age group of 5 to 12 years participated in the camp and took the benefit of the free diagnosis . 25 dentists gave their invaluable services to the children.
 
Ganesh Utsav
 
 
 
Maintaining the religious tradition gifted by our ancestors, Rotary Dolls Museum organized Ganesh Utsav from 25th August to 5th September. The idol of Lord Ganesha was made of Multani Mitti & turmeric which perfectly made it eco friendly. Students of various schools and colleges gave their performances at the museum. Dignitaries of Rajkot like the Police Commisioner, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and many more remained present on different days to pay their tribute to the Lord Ganesha during the function. All the children who visited the museum for the darshan were gifted two notebooks and Ganesh idol made of clay. The idols were prepared live and had been stuffed with seeds of various flowers, vegetables that would sprout into plants and trees when immersed in earth. This again promoted the Go Green Campaign.
 
Diya Making
 
 
 
On 25th September 2017, we had organized a Diya Making seminar at Saraswati Shishu Mandir(Thorada) for 2 days. We had a team of 5 teachers who helped 60 students the art of decorating diyas. We provided them the diyas, colours along with decoration material. This seminar aimed at developing the creativity of the teenage students and helping them to be self dependant irrespective of their financial condition.
 
Children’s Day
 
 
 
To increase the awareness of people towards the rights, care and education of children we celebrated Children’s Day at RDM. We had organized Drawing Competition The topic was “Eco friendly Society”. Almost 150 students from various schools participated in the competition. The drawing sheet and the colours were provided by the museum. The winners were gifted educational books. We had arranged trampoline for the tiny tots. Though in a petite way, we keep our efforts on in contribution towards the society.
 
Christmas
 
 
 
Ours being a secular country we at RDM celebrated the Christmas on 23rd,24th,25th of December. We had arranged movie show on Kung Fu Panda, trampoline, jumping joker,and cartoon character for the tiny ones. All the little ones had ball of the time.
 
Marathon 2018
 
 
 
The Rajkot Munciipal Corporation organized International Marathon on 18th Feb 2018. To encourage the runners of Rajkot Rotary Dolls Museum arranged a cheer booth at ground level. Many schools participated in this activity and their children gave live performances to boost up the morale of the participants. We had arranged breakfast for all of them.
 
Shoes for Soul
 
 
 
The reality of life for many individuals is that having a pair of shoes is rarity. We organized a shoe donation camp on 18th March 2018. We had gathered 700 pair of old shoes, 120 new pair. We had selected 5 different slum areas of Rajkot where there would be dire need of shoes.
 
Summer Workshop 2018
 
 
 
 
 
To unleash the hidden talents in children we organized Summer Workshop from 1st May to 26th May 2018 for the age group of 8-12 years. The theme of the workshop was based on Friendship. Various activities like art & Craft, Fireless Cooking, Dancing, Drama, Finger Puppet making etc. were taught to children by different faculties who are masters in their field . All the required material was provided by the museum.
